If you like lots of open space with pasture for cattle, horses, and even domestic elk, Liberty real estate may be for you! Liberty is a quiet community situated at the northern end of the Ogden Valley. There are a number of nice residential communities in Liberty, including Durfee Creek, The Preserve (also known as Sheep Creek), and Willow Creek. The recreational highlight of Liberty is North Fork Park which provides hundreds of acres of forested land for hiking, biking, horseback riding and camping. There are even corrals for horses on overnight camping trips. The North Fork River runs through the park, providing world class fishing and wildlife habitat. One local fisherman routinely shares his favorite spot with a very laid-back moose! The park offers numerous trails of varying length and difficulty, perhaps the most notable being the Ben Lomond trail that ends at the summit of (you guessed it!) Ben Lomond Peak. Ben Lomond is perhaps most famous as the mountain on the Paramount Pictures logo -- although the logo shows the mountain from the Ogden side. The Liberty town park is site of many activities, most notable being Independence day celebrations that culminate in a terrific fireworks display. lrs/5/06 |
